The deal includes two adjoining properties at 650-654 Main Ave. and 644 Main Ave., totaling about 165,000 square feet.
Walmart has purchased the shopping center that bears its name on Main Avenue in Norwalk for $44.5 million, according to a broker involved in the deal.
The transaction includes two adjoining properties at 650-654 Main Ave. and 644 Main Ave., totaling about 165,000 square feet. The site is anchored by a 118,630-square-foot Walmart and includes tenants such as Ulta, Aspen Dental, Just Salad, Panera and Qdoba Mexican Eats.
Royal Properties Principal Jeff Kintzer represented the seller, MG 650 MAIN LLC.
Barry Milberg of Treeline Real Estate Corp. represented the buyer.
Kintzer said the property drew strong interest from multiple prospective buyers before Walmart ultimately made the top offer.
The property, which was appraised at $30.8 million in 2023, last sold for $27 million in 2004 to New York City-based Murray & Gaunt Partners, property records show.
The shopping center sits along Route 7, a heavily traveled retail corridor with nearby stores including TJ Maxx, LA Fitness, Starbucks and Total Wine & More.
