Wallingford union to dedicate solar training facility

As the state looks to expand its clean energy workforce, two Connecticut unions will unveil their solar training facility on Friday morning in Wallingford.

The National Electric Contractors Association and the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers Local 90 joint apprenticeship training committee will open the training facility at 2 North Plains Industrial Road in Wallingford.

The Connecticut Clean Energy Finance & Investment Authority provided $100,000 for the purchase of the equipment and training materials.

Connecticut strives to become a leader in the clean energy technology field. Those efforts include the installation of clean energy technology, such as solar, and training of a new green jobs workforce.
