Wallingford medical-data firm’s S. Africa deal

Wallingford health-data manager InSite One Inc. signed a deal with a South African digital diagnostic imaging firm to set up a network for archiving health histories on that country’s miners.

Terms of the deal with Xeikona Medical Solutions of Johannesburg were not disclosed.

According to InSite, its archiving systems will form the core of a central data repository for South African hospitals and public health centers to share diagnostic images and related reports on miners.

InSite is best known for helping hospitals and other health-care providers archive vast quantities of medical images and reports, as well as emergency backup support.

InSite said the Xeikona contract is its first international distribution agreement.
