Wallingford-based HVAC contractor Air Comfort Systems has been acquired by private equity-backed competitor Action Air Systems.
Action Air says the acquisition fits its continued growth strategy and expands the company’s presence across southern Connecticut, including the Wallingford and greater New Haven markets.
Action Air is a partner company of NexCore, a commercial HVAC company with operations across multiple regions in the United States. NexCore is backed by Dallas-based private equity firm, Trinity Hunt Partners.
Founded in 1995, Air Comfort is a commercial HVAC provider specializing in preventative maintenance, repair and replacement work.
As part of the deal, Air Comfort founder and owner John Hauser will remain involved during a transition period to support integration efforts. The company did not specify the length of the transition.
Action Air says it will retain Air Comfort’s service technicians and assume its preventative maintenance contracts and customer relationships.
