Wallingford company waives co-pay for energy savings

CLARIFICATION: The waiving of the $50 co-pay is for customers of Wallingford Electric Division only. Customers of Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating, which have similar programs, must still pay the co-pay.

Wallingford energy efficiency company Competitive Resources Inc. is waiving the $50 co-pay for the first 200 customers who schedule a home energy assessment through the Wallingford Electric Division energy savings program.

The Wallingford Electric Division offers home energy program where customers can have efficiency companies assess a building’s energy use to spot places where efficiencies can be made. Other state utilities such as Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating also have similar programs.

Those who sign up for the service receive about $700 in services and installed upgrades that lower energy bills by $150 or more, according to Competitive Resources Inc.
