Wallingford manufacturer Winchester Electronics Corp. bought an Illinois mass-transit equipment maker, the Connecticut’s company’s second acquisition in a week.
The purchase of Clements National Co. of Broadview, Ill. adds production of power and signal connectors for the rail, marine, oil and gas markets to Winchester’s portfolio, including connectors and cable assemblies for railroads under the Cadillac trademark.
Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
One week ago, Winchester completed its purchase of South Carolina coaxial cable manufacturer Electrical Specialty Products Inc., including its 50,000-square-foot Spartanburg, S.C., production plant. Terms of that sale were not disclosed.
Winchester Electronics was started in 1952, and has other facilities in Franklin, Mass.; Nogales, Mexico; Suzhou, China; and Penang, Malaysia. It is a portfolio company of Boston investment firm Audax Group.
