Wallingford’s Winchester Electronics Corp., maker of power cords, coaxial cable and other electronic connectors bought a South Carolina producer of similar products.
What Winchester paid for 20-year-old Electrical Specialty Products Inc. and its 50,000-square-foot Spartanburg, S.C., production plant wasn’t disclosed Thursday. ESP makes heavy-duty wiring harnesses and cabling.
ESP founder Jay Robinson will stay on as general manager.
Winchester Electronics was started in 1952, and has other facilities in Franklin, Mass.; Nogales, Mexico; Suzhou, China; and Penang, Malaysia.
