Walgreens is launching a new credit card program in partnership with Stamford-based Synchrony Bank, which will issue the cards.
The new myWalgreens Credit Card program will include a myWalgreens Mastercard and the myWalgreens Credit Card, according to Walgreens. Customers with the cards will receive rewards at more than 9,000 Walgreens retail stores and Walgreens.com.
As part of the partnership, Synchrony will provide its patent-pending digital payment platform dApply, which authenticates the customer and prefills much of the application to streamline the application process. Additionally, Synchrony’s Quickscreen pre-approval engine will provide customers applying for a credit card with a real-time credit check.
Additionally, myWalgreens Mastercard cardholders will also be able to use their credit card to make purchases at all other places of business wherever Mastercard is accepted, Walgreens said.
