Atlantic Fasteners in West Springfield says its aerospace division won a two-year, $360,000 contract to deploy its parent’s barcode inventory tracking system to help a Chicago aerospace subcontractor manage an initial supply of 420 aircraft parts.
Atlantic Fasteners said the contract with the unidentified vendor is renewable and that more aircraft-parts inventory will be added later.
Aerospace Sales Director Marc Dionne said the barcode inventory systems are most at home with lean manufacturers who can’t afford to wait around for $10 fasteners.
The six-year-old company’s other customers include Lockheed Martin’s Electronic Systems division
