West Hartford Coworking will relocate to a larger facility straddling the municipal border with Hartford, according to its owners.
Co-owners Annisa Teich and her mother, Annette Farese, who together purchased the business from its co-founder in March, announced they will relocate the coworking hub from Farmington Avenue to 430 New Park Ave. in early September. The line between Hartford and West Hartford goes directly through the property, but the building’s official address is in Hartford.
West Hartford Coworking, which is keeping its name, will more than double its footprint at the new 4,000-square-foot space, which is housed in an office building owned and occupied by the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors.
Teich, who leads the coworking operation as managing director, said the business has outgrown its current second-floor suite in West Hartford Center and will be able to provide more affordable coworking opportunities for customers on New Park Avenue.
She expects almost all of 30 current members to join the new space.
“While we sought to stay in West Hartford Center, and even within the town of West Hartford, we found the right space at the right price with the right partners…” said Teich, a resident of West Hartford. “For many of our current and prospective members, the Hartford address is actually a benefit in applying for city and state-funded grants that are more difficult to qualify for with a West Hartford zip [code].”
West Hartford Coworking’s new space will offer six private offices, open space for events, a training room, a boardroom and amenities including a lounge, coffee bar, cafe and free parking.
Teich said she also plans to move The Small Business Collective, a low-cost marketing and business development firm serving independent entrepreneurs, makers, startups and small businesses, from Farmington Avenue to the new Hartford site.
