Filomeno & Co. in West Hartford said it’s teamed up with a fellow public accounting firm in New York to launch a compliance consulting practice.
Defense Contracting Consultants LLC will help federal contractors comply with regulations on financial reporting and other rules.
The new business will be majority owned by Nancy Catarisano, managing partner of Insero & Co., based in Rochester, N.Y.
Thomas Filomeno, president of Filomeno & Co., will be a minority partner.
Both Filomeno and Insero belong to an alliance of independent accounting firms, which is how their principals met and hatched the idea.
William T. Laramee, Filomeno’s tax department leader, will lead the new practice alongside Insero’s Denise Metivier. Additional accountants from each firm will also contribute.
