VNA HealthCare Inc.

Mission: VNA HealthCare is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals by providing a full range of home care, hospice and community-based health and wellness services.

Background: Founded in Hartford in 1901 and in 1903 in Waterbury, VNA HealthCare provides comprehensive home health care services to 60 communities in Greater Hartford and Greater Waterbury and is committed to providing quality care to all persons in need. Last year, VNA HealthCare ultimately enabled 12,000 elderly, disabled and homebound individuals to recover from illness or to remain living independently in the comfort of their own homes.

Services include those received after the onset of an illness or hospitalization, such as nursing, hospice and palliative care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, home health aides, medical social work, and 24-hour telemonitoring. VNA HealthCare also provides long-term services geared to assisting individuals to remain in their homes, such as assistance with personal care, bathing, meal preparation and household chores, home-delivered meals, 24-hour emergency response system, volunteer support and more.

Philanthropic donations are used to assist those who are underinsured, have no insurance, or those for whom insurance does not cover the necessary services. Often the items that make the most difference are beyond the scope of insurance.
