Longtime Hartford money manager Christopher J. Kelleher is back home, joining Virtus Investment Partners’ Newfleet Asset Management unit as managing director and senior portfolio manager.
Kelleher had been with Hartford insurer The Phoenix Cos.’ Goodwin Capital Advisors division, which it sold to Conning Inc. last November.
Up until late 2009, Virtus also was part of The Phoenix.
At Newfleet, Kelleher will co-manage fixed income assets in Virtus fund portfolio.
Kelleher previously was a senior managing director and senior portfolio manager at Goodwin Capital, managing some $1 billion bond portfolios.
He is a UConn graduate with a BS in accounting, and has master’s in accounting from the University of Hartford. He is a CPA as well as a Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner, and Chartered Life Underwriter.
