Viewership up 9 percent for ESPN’s Christmas NBA broadcast

ESPN said its broadcast of the Washington Wizards-New York Knicks Christmas Day matchup drew 3.05 million viewers, up nine percent from a comparable game a year ago.

The Bristol sports giant’s noon broadcast preceded an NBA doubleheader that included Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs at 2:30 p.m. and Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Miami Heat at 5 p.m.

Both of the latter games aired on ABC and saw viewership increases of 10 percent and 19 percent, respectively. Together, they drew a combined 15.29 million viewers.
