What do you do? I help transform lives through higher education. I lead and oversee all teams/departments that support the enrollment, support and retention of our online students including Admissions, Academic Advising/Retention, Tuition Planning, Corporate Partnerships and Student Support Services. In this role, I also coach and mentor hundreds of employees.

What do you want to be doing in 10 years? In ten years I would like to still be inspiring and changing lives, “in-volume” through my continued work as a higher education administrator, executive coach/consultant, motivational speaker and advocate for cancer preventative living.

What is your biggest strength? I’m a survivor. I don’t let obstacles or set-backs define or deter me from my goals. I prefer to let them drive and motivate me. Failure is typically not an option in my book. I also constantly strive to improve with every attempt I make. One of my personal mottos is, “progression is the new perfection.” Another one of my strengths is my high level of optimism, which enables me to always see a cup as “half full” and to see the potential in each one of our employees and students. I believe that where there’s a will, there is ALWAYS a way!

Where do you go for new ideas? Creative, fresh and innovative ideas can come from all people, across all industries. That’s why I’m not opposed to hiring someone with experience outside of higher education. Sometimes you need to get fresh perspective from accomplished people outside your industry. I find it’s a great way to grow and innovate.

What is the best advice you received? I’ve been fortunate to recognize mentors and receive GREAT advice and examples for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my parents would say, “Always help bring out the best in others. But ‘Don’t just teach everyone around you. Surround yourself with brilliant minds that will also feed yours.’”

What service or charitable cause has your attention? As a young cancer survivor myself, I promote and support many causes that advocate for early diagnosis, and prevention education, such as The Cancer Schmancer Movement, and the American Cancer Association. I’m committed to giving the gift that keeps on giving…a smile! That’s why I also support Operation Smile, which works on global scale to provide free medical attention and corrective surgeries to children born with cleft palates.
