Vernon outdoor amphitheater plan shot down

Vernon’s planning and zoning commission Thursday night voted down a plan for a new concert venue on Frontage Road, NBC Connecticut reports.

The commission shot down the proposal for the outdoor amphitheater by a 5-2 vote.

Several commissioners had raised concerns that the TicketNetwork Summer Concert Theater would be a neighborhood nuisance and a threat to public health and safety, according to NBC Connecticut.

Don Vaccaro, CEO of TicketNetwork, said he was disappointed in the decision and may appeal it in court.
