Verizon has been ranked the top performing wireless network in Connecticut during the second half of 2015, according to a new study. It had shared the mantle with AT&T in the first half of 2015.
Verizon received a score of 97.2 to AT&T’s 94.4 for the second half of 2015. Sprint was next at 90 and T Mobile came in fourth at 85.5.
The report, conducted by independent network grader RootMetrics, gave Verizon top marks for overall performance, network reliability and speed, data, and call performance. It tied with AT&T for texting performance.
This is the fifth straight time Verizon has either had the outright top score or shared it with AT&T.
In the Metro RootScore report series, Verizon also was rated highest in reliability, call and overall performance and tied in text performance in Hartford,, according to a statement from Horizon. In May 2015, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile shared the award.
To calculate the scores, RootMetrics tests reliability and speeds for file uploads and downloads, email downloads, call reliability, and how fast text messages are sent and received. Phones used during testing: AT&T – Galaxy S5 , Sprint – Galaxy S6 , T-Mobile – Galaxy Note 4 , and Verizon – Galaxy S5.
