Vanguard’s Bogle to keynote Trinity graduation

Investment tycoon John Bogle, founder of The Vanguard Group, is the keynote speaker for Trinity College’s commencement Sunday in Hartford.

Trinity will present Bogle an honorary doctor of humane letters degree at the ceremony from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the college campus on Summit Street.

Bogle founded Vanguard in 1974, and today the mutual fund company, based in Malvern, Pa., manages 120 funds with assets of more than $1 trillion.

Fortune Magazine named Bogle one of four investment giants of the 20th century, and in 2004 Time named him one of the 100 most powerful and influential people in the world.
