The Hartford Public Library said it has accepted delivery of two murals from the XL Center valued at more than $4 million.
The murals, by Harlem Renaissance painter Romare Bearden, have been hanging in the XL Center for the past 34 years. With a major renovation ongoing at the center, the murals needed a new home. They have been in storage in Bethel since July.
The library expects the paintings to be on display by 2 p.m. today.
