A vacant lot approved for apartments near the routes 91 and 691 corridor in Meriden has sold for $1.7 million to a Pennsylvania-based development group.
The 7.8-acre commercial lot at 406 Bee St. was sold by JHM LLC of Lexington, Mass., to Bee Street Apartments LLC and principals Keith L. Lenhart and Daniel J. Mancosh in a deal recorded Aug. 1.
Lenhart is president and Mancosh director of AR Building Co. Inc., out of Seven Fields, Pa.
The lot is located in the Bee Street, Preston Avenue area of Meriden, with easy access to routes 91, 691 and 15.Â
Meriden Planning Director Paul Dickson said site plans for that property were approved in 2020, and a modification approved in March 2022.
The plans call for a four-story, 125,000-square-foot apartment building with 99 units. The apartments would be a near equal mix of one- and two-bedroom units, according to the plans.Â
The property is located in the city’s R-4 zone for multi-family/professional office buildings, and sits next to another apartment building and extended-stay hotel.
Dickson said no building permits have been issued yet for that property.
The land is appraised at $841,700.
