Good news if you’re a commercial or industrial utility customer having trouble making a payment for electric, gas or water service.
The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) on Friday morning ruled that a shut-off moratorium for non-residential customers would be extended by another month, from June 1 to July 1. It’s the second such extension PURA has granted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Authority observes that Connecticut businesses are still in the process of fully reopening,” PURA wrote in a brief ruling posted Friday.
Residential customers are still protected from shut-offs until whenever Gov. Ned Lamont declares the end of the civil and public health preparedness emergencies. That date remains unknown.
