UTC’s Hamilton lights up in Paris, too

Hamilton Sundstrand Corp. in Windsor Locks got another Canadian jetliner contract — this one to supply cabin lighting for Bombardier’s CSeries regional jetliner. This is the latest in a flurry of important contracts for United Technologies Corp. divisions at this week’s Paris Air Show.

Hamilton, a division of Hartford-based UTC, was chosen by C&D Zodiac to supply the interior lighting for the CSeries. C&D Zodiac is the cabin interior supplier.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Hamilton’s Page Aerospace subsidiary will provide the passenger signs, the emergency lights, exit signs and associated emergency power supplies, as well as the cargo bay and door lighting. LED devices are used throughout the cabin.

Hamilton will also supply the CSeries aircraft’s electrical power system and integrated fire protection system, and through Pratt & Whitney, will provide the control system and accessories for the aircraft’s Pratt PurePower geared turbofan engines.
