UTC Aerospace Systems, a division of Hartford’s United Technologies, said Thursday that it is working with Boeing on a space vehicle to deliver NASA crews to the International Space Station.
NASA awarded Boeing a $4.2 billion contract in September to build the CST-10, which can carry a mix of astronauts and gear to dock with the ISS for up to six months.
UTC did not disclose the value of its work on the program.
The company disclosed Wednesday that the U.S. Air Force had awarded it a contract worth $22 million to provide upgraded wheels and carbon brakes for 475 F-15 fighter jets.
The contract also has a follow-on option worth $30 million. UTC’s Pratt & Whitney makes the engines for the F-15, as well as the newer F-35.
Deliveries of the wheels and brakes are scheduled to begin in the summer of 2016.
