United Technologies Corp.’s industrial flame- and gas-detection and safety systems unit has gotten U.S. Coast Guard certification for one of its fire-suppression systems aboard sea-going vessels. The company said.
Detector Electronics Corp. — Det-Tronics for short — said its Eagle Quantum Premier brand fire and gas detector system received type-approval from the Coast Guard and from Lloyd’s Register.
The meticulous certification means the system is ready for use, the Minneapolis company said.
Det-Tronics is part of UTC’s Fire & Security unit.
