UTC to make Boeing landing gear

UTC Aerospace Systems, a subsidiary of Hartford’s United Technologies Corp., said it has won a contract to manufacture landing gear for the new Boeing 737 MAX.

The company will make the nose and main landing gear, including main gear side struts, in North America and Poland.

UTC said there are more than 1,400 orders for the new plane, with the first deliveries planned for 2017. UTC provides landing gear for other Boeing aircraft, including the 737, 747, 767 and 777.
