United Technologies Corp. in Hartford spent $2.93 million lobbying the federal government in the first quarter, The Associated Press reports, citing a recent disclosure report filed with the House Clerk’s office.
That’s up from the $1.86 million the company spent in the first quarter of last year on lobbying but less than the $3.66 million it spent in the fourth quarter.
UTC lobbied on defense appropriations, NASA’s budget, patent law reform and other issues during the January through March period.
In addition to Congress, the company lobbied the Department of Energy, Department of Transportation and the General Services Administration, according to the document filed April 20.
