A California company that makes CNC machining software has licensed UTC Technologies Corp. cutting process software, UTC announced.
CGTech plans to integrate the UTC software, known as PromptFMTM, with its own core software product, known as Vericut.
UTC said PromptFMTM, which it developed specifically for CGTech, reduces development and manufacturing cycle times for machined parts and helps CNC machines last longer. UTC said it has used the software in its own processes.
The software determines optimal cutting speeds for various materials.
Terms of the licensing agreement were not disclosed.
