Carrier, a Farmington business unit of United Technologies Corp., said it has formed a joint venture with Robert Bosch N.A. Corp. to make water heating pumps.
The geothermal and water-source pumps, which will be manufactured at Bosch’s Florida plant, will be targeted at the residential and commercial markets in North America.
Carrier said sales of geothermal heat pumps, which conserve electricity, are expected to triple by 2020.
