UTC Aerospace enters into agreement with Lufthansa Technik

The Singapore Air Show continues to be good to Farmington-based United Technologies Corp. The latest news concerns an agreement between UTC Aerospace Systems and Lufthansa Technik.

The two have signed a long-term agreement that will give operators of Airbus A350 XWB aircraft more options for the maintenance, repair and overhaul services of nacelle systems on the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines that power the twinjet.

Under the agreement, UTC Aerospace Systems’ Aerostructures business will provide Lufthansa Technik with proprietary information including repair procedures, access to OEM tooling, technical publications, worldwide performance data and technical data required to perform A350 XWB services.

Earlier this week, UTC Aerospace Systems signed a 12-year agreement with Singapore Airlines to provide asset management and repair services for the airline’s fleet of Airbus A350 aircraft.

Also, from the show, Vietjets signed an order for engines for 63 of its Airbus A320neo and A321neo family of aircraft with the PurePower Geared Turbofan built by Pratt & Whitney.
