The man who oversees both Pratt & Whitney and UTC Aerospace Systems will depart at the end of the month, parent company United Technologies Corp. announced.
Alain Bellemare has been president and CEO of UTC Propulsion & Aerospace Systems since United Technologies created the unit in 2012 to oversee integration of Hamilton Sundstrand and Goodrich.
Now that the integration is completed, UTC said it is eliminating the Propulsion & Aerospace organization.
Pratt and UTC Aerospace will continue to operate as stand-alone units, the company said, with Pratt President Paul Adams and newly promoted UTC Aerospace President Dave Gitlin reporting directly to CEO Gregory Hayes.
Bellemare, who has worked for UTC since 1996, will continue to serve the company as a consultant. He earned compensation of $6.3 million in 2013.
He was previously chief operating officer of the propulsion unit, and president of Hamilton Sundstrand. He also led Pratt & Whitney Canada as president from 2002 to 2008.
