U.S. soccer team vs. Germany at Rentschler Field, Hartford Marathon both set for Saturday

A soccer game with international intrigue and the Hartford Marathon are expected to draw tens of thousands of people to the Hartford region on Saturday.

A matchup between the U.S. Men’s National Team and four-time World Cup Champion Germany will start at 3 p.m. at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field. The game is in preparation for the teams’ quarterfinal matches in the Concacaf Nations League in November. 

The match will be broadcast live on TNT and Telemundo, and streamed on Max and Peacock. 

As of Wednesday, tickets were available, ranging about $115 to more than $500 per seat. Doors open at 1 p.m.

Also on Saturday, the Eversource Hartford Marathon will begin at 8 a.m. on Capitol Avenue outside the front lawn of the Capitol.

About 8,500 people are expected to participate in the race, which features a 26.2-mile marathon, a half marathon, charity 5K and kids’ fun run. 

The race concludes with entertainment and a beer garden at Bushnell Park.

Numerous road closures will occur on the route, which includes Hartford, West Hartford, East Hartford and South Windsor. The closures will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Click here to see a list of road closures.
