U.S. sends $100K to two CT fire agencies

Two eastern Connecticut towns — Sterling and Mansfield — will share $100,000 in federal funds to upgrade their fire departments, authorities say.

The Sterling Fire Department will receive $52,212 and the Mansfield Fire Department $45,957 for firefighter training and upgrading fire stations and equipment, courtesy of the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Congressman Joe Courtney said Friday.
