Yale New Haven Hospital is the best hospital in the state, according to U.S. News & World Report’s new annual ranking.
U.S. News & World Report released its 2023-24 Best Hospital Rankings this month, which ranks the country’s best medical institutions across a variety of metrics including more than 30 medical and surgical services. 484 hospitals across the country were evaluated, according to U.S. News & World Report, including 42 in Connecticut.
While no Connecticut hospital ranked among the 22 on the outlet’s national Best Hospitals Honor Roll for the year, Yale New Haven Hospital was ranked as the state’s best overall. According to the list, Yale New Haven was nationally ranked in eight adult and five children’s specialties, the only Connecticut hospital to be ranked nationally.
Yale New Haven was also ranked as high performing in another four adult specialties and 17 procedures and conditions.  Â
Hartford Hospital ranked as Connecticut’s second best and top in the Hartford metro area. According to U.S. News & World Report, Hartford Hospital was ranked as high performing in one adult specialty and 14 procedures and conditions.
