The University of New Haven announced Tuesday it has received accreditation approval to establish an international branch campus in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with plans to open in fall 2026.
The approval from the New England Commission of Higher Education allows the university to extend the same accreditation it holds for its Connecticut campus to the overseas location, according to an announcement.
University officials said the Riyadh campus is expected to begin offering undergraduate and graduate programs through a College of Business and Digital Innovation, with plans to expand into engineering, advanced manufacturing, and arts and sciences.
The university said it ultimately expects the campus to serve more than 10,000 students.
The expansion marks the first U.S. international branch campus in Saudi Arabia, according to the university.
