Universal Hotel Liquidators relocates to West Haven

Universal Hotel Liquidators announced Monday it will relocate its New Haven store to Route 1 in West Haven.

The new 60,375-square-foot location on Boston Post Road will provide the company with more retail and parking space, according to UHL owner David White.

The move will also introduce a small amount of jobs to the city, said West Haven Mayor John Picard. The move will expand the list of taxable property and provide tax revenue for the city.

The largest hotel liquidator in the country, UHL was founded in 1999 and works with hotel chains such as Marriott, Sheraton, Ritz-Carlton and Hyatt providing furniture and other items from hotels.
