Killingly-based United Natural Foods reported a net income of $13 million in the third quarter of FY08, down from $13.7 million for the same period last year.
The company’s net sales rose to $887 million in Q3 from $732.5 million in Q3 2007.
“Despite operating in an environment of rising fuel and commodity prices, our growth was in line with our expectations, with solid growth across our sales channels,” Michael Funk, president and CEO of UNF, said in a statement. “During the quarter, we continued to make progress achieving efficiencies at our Millbrook specialty division, and we remain confident that we can achieve breakeven operating results in that division in the first quarter of fiscal 2009, as previously announced.”
