Glastonbury lender United Bank, which two years ago entered New Haven County’s commercial-loan and home mortgage-lending market, is pursuing penetration into Fairfield County.
United applied Aug. 20 with the state Banking Department for approval to open a loan-production office in The Offices at Green Farms office park, 55 Greens Farms Road, in Westport.
Back in February, while still known as Rockville Bank before its $369 million merger with former United Bank of West Springfield on April 30, United opened a bank branch at 2290 Whitney Ave. in Hamden to go with its two-year-old loan-production office next door at 2319 Whitney Ave.
