United Bank parent sets dividend

Glastonbury’s United Financial Bancorp, which merged in April with former Rockville Financial, declared its first common-stock dividend as a new entity and signaled positive second-quarter performance a week ahead of its scheduled earnings release.

The parent of United Bank, formerly Rockville Bank, said it will pay a dime a share on Aug. 4 to common stockholders on record by July 28.

Former Rockville Financial and former United Financial Bancorp of West Springfield merged for $369 million on April 30.

United Financial is due to release second-quarter results on Wednesday.
