United Bank names regional managers

United Bank has established three new regional manager positions to provide supervision of retail operations in the West Springfield-based bank’s expanded marketplace.

United Bank currently serves customers in the Springfield and Worcester regions of Massachusetts, and recently added a 15-branch network in northern Connecticut with its acquisition of New England Bank in November.

Barbara Fontaine has been named as regional manager of the new Connecticut market, formerly New England Bank locations. The bank has 15 branches in Connecticut’s Hartford, Tolland, New Haven, and Litchfield counties and a loan production office in Glastonbury.

Fontaine joined New England Bank as marketing and communications director in 2010, managing the bank’s advertising program and all community events and financial support. Previously, she spent nearly a decade in marketing and public relations at Bristol Hospital.

Darilyn Nardi, branch administration officer, has been promoted to serve as regional manager – retail banking for the bank’s 16-branch Springfield Region.

And Lisa Rood, who is now United Bank’s retail trainer, will assume regional manager responsibilities for the seven branches in the Worcester Region.
