A Maryland real estate investment firm has agreed to fork over $31.3 million for a Cheshire property that includes the headquarters of biotech giant Alexion Pharmaceuticals.
UniStar Properties announced the purchase today, playing up the transaction as a bold move during the current economic downturn. The property is at the intersection of I-84 and I-691, and houses 250 Alexion employees as well as a facility for Arch Chemicals.
UniStar founder Lee Jundanian said the land’s location in the heart of Connecticut’s “Bioscience Center” is ideal for companies looking to relocate to areas central to other bioscience hubs in Boston/Cambridge and northern New Jersey.
