Danbury-based Union Savings Bank has hired Christopher Covello as a new vice president, wealth management certified planner and trust officer.
In his new position, Covello, a certified financial planner, develops long-term financial plans for clients, including recommending personalized financial products and services. He is also responsible for the administration of trust, not-for-profit, and other accounts for financial planning.
Covello is based at the bank’s New Milford office at 100 Park Lane Road.
Covello, a Middletown resident, has more than a decade of banking experience, and previously worked for Mass Mutual, Merrill Lynch and Bank of America.

Barker Specialty Co. names new account executive
Barker Specialty Company in Cheshire recently hired Bob Steinbach as a new senior account executive and director of strategic sourcing.
Barker Specialty, which has been in business for more than 70 years, is a promotional marketing company. It provides customers with branded merchandise such as promotional products, apparel, uniforms, gifts, displays and signage.
Steinbach was president and owner of The Idea Company, a sales company in Wallingford. He will continue to maintain his customer base, while sharing his knowledge with Barker’s sales staff, according to an announcement.
Steinbach, a graduate of the University of Connecticut, has more than 44 years of experience in business development, supplier sourcing and sales leadership within the promotional products industry.
