UNH’s record $10.5M fundraising

The University of New Haven raised $10.5 million — its most ever — to fund its ongoing building and education programs.

The 2010-2011 fundraising is up 36 percent from a year earlier, when the university raised $7.7 million, the school said Tuesday

“Strong gift support is yet another sign of the momentum of the university,” said President Steven H. Kaplan.

Gifts included several of $1 million or more: one from an anonymous alumnus to renovate the exterior of Maxcy Hall, built in 1909; another from Wintek Technology Corp. of Taiwan to establish an advanced training program for police officers from China and Taiwan at the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science; and one from an anonymous donor to expand and renovate Bartels Hall, the Campus Center.
