Greater Hartford — which includes Hartford, Tolland and Middlesex counties — was one of just two metros that saw its civilian labor force shrink compared to last July. The region’s labor force, which includes those who have jobs or are looking for work, shrank by 1,200 over the year, ending at 594,200.
The Norwich-New London area’s labor force declined by 2,900.
The Danbury metro area has the lowest unemployment rate in the state, at 5.4 percent, while the Waterbury region’s is the highest at 10.8 percent.
