Farmington Bank is shaking up its board of directors, announcing the retirement of one member and the appointment of another.
John J. Carson, vice president of university relations at the University of Hartford, was recently added to the bank’s board of directors, replacing Gerald L. Terwilliger, who is retiring after 32 years of service.
John J. Patrick, Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Farmington Bank, said Carson has more than 43 years of business, development and economics expertise both in the private and public sectors.
Carson’s positions prior to his role at the University of Hartford include president of the Connecticut Policy and Economic Council and commissioner of Economic Development for the state of Connecticut.
Carson has also served as vice chairman of the former Glastonbury Bank and Trust and then at TD Banknorth Connecticut. He also served on the board risk committee of the parent, TD Banknorth N.A.
