The University of Hartford has joined the Campus Efficiency Now program designed to advance energy efficiency at Connecticut private universities.
UHart is expected to save more than $1.8 million in energy purchase under the life of the installed improvements through the program sponsored by the Clean Energy Finance & Investment Authority.
CEFIA will provide up to $1 million in finance to make improvement at three UHart buildings: Dana Hall, the Biology-Chemistry Building, and the Sports Center. The upgrades include automation system, laboratory ventilation, HVAC, and water-saving showerheads.
UHart is the second participant in the Campus Efficiency Now program. The University of New Haven was first.
