UHart approach targets startups

A few miles west on I-84, the University of Hartford’s entrepreneurial center offers a program with a different approach, geared to businesses that are already in the startup phase.

UHart’s program is community-based rather than academic, open to small business startups within a 50-mile radius of Hartford. It provides one-on-one business advising, assistance developing an action plan, training and workshop events, as well as keynote speakers for their special events.

“Our keynote speakers promote networking and social media as ways to promote and develop business,” said Sandra Cahill, associate director for the entrepreneurial center at the University of Hartford. “Some workshops we provide are much more practical, helping entrepreneurs with the operation of their business.”
