UConn’s digital-media degrees go live this fall

The University of Connecticut is launching this fall two new undergraduate degrees in digital media and design – hot commodities, it says, among today’s business and entertainment employers.

UConn trustees approved Wednesday offering both majors as bachelors of arts or fine arts at its flagship campus in Mansfield’s Storrs section and at its satellite Stamford campus.

About 135 students already have been studying this year in the Department of Digital Media & Design created last fall, the school said.

The initiative is jointly sponsored by the schools of fine arts, business and engineering.
