UConn has partnered with Channel 3 WFSB, and its sister station, WWAX, to televise college sports during the 2023-24 season.
Under the exclusive media partnership, UConn Football Coach Jim Mora will appear in a season preview show at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 on WFSB.
Also, WFSB will broadcast the UConn vs. Sacred Heart football game at 12 p.m. on Nov. 18.
Other aspects of the partnership are in the works, including men’s basketball, ice hockey, baseball, softball and several coaches’ shows, according to UConn’s announcement. Those offerings will be announced later.
UConn Athletics Director David Benedict said the partnership “will give us the opportunity to showcase our student-athletes and our coaches to the vast majority of Connecticut homes and allow our fans to get an in-depth look at what drives our success on the playing fields.”
Dana Neves, regional vice president and general manager of WFSB and WWAX, said the partnership has benefits beyond athletics and will “open doors and create valuable opportunities for UConn students with internships and exposure to the real world of 24/7 news.”
