UConn trustees approve $1.18B budget, tuition increase

UConn’s trustees voted Wednesday to approve a $1.18 billion budget and a 5.6 percent increase in tuition and mandatory fees for the coming academic year, officials said.

The budget, which is up 4.6 percent from last year, adds 61 faculty positions, including 35 in STEM areas, UConn said.

In-state students will pay tuition and mandatory fees of $9,858 and $2,842, respectively. That’s up from $9,256 and $2,766.

The total sticker cost, including room and board, will be $24,774, up from $23,744.
