The University of Connecticut Board of Trustees has unanimously approved the establishment of the School of Public Policy within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
The board voted on the measure at its March 30 meeting.
The School of Public Policy will have a focus on graduate professional education and classes will be offered in Hartford, Storrs and online.
The School of Public Policy, university officials said, will prepare students for management careers in the public and nonprofit sectors, as well as survey research careers in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

University officials said the plan is to launch the School of Public Policy later this month.
